Overview

A movement strengthening climate finance organizations by tackling talent barriers, so they can accelerate their solutions for impact

The Climate Finance Fellowship is a pioneering program designed to close the critical talent gap in the climate finance sector. Mid-career professionals are eager to apply their skills in climate work but often lack clear pathways, while climate organizations urgently need their expertise to scale solutions. This Fellowship builds that bridge — equipping mid-career professionals from the Global South with the skills, knowledge, and networks to transition into the nonprofit climate finance space.

We partner with Surge Climate Talent (SCT) to deliver the Fellowship — with SCT leading the initiative and Global Good x Amani managing program design and implementation. Together, we ensure host organizations are supported, Fellows are set up for success, and the program strengthens the global climate finance ecosystem.

The first Cohort was successful in bringing skilled finance professionals into climate nonprofits, strengthening capacity, deepening sector knowledge, and delivering tangible outcomes such as green investment taxonomies and tools for integrating climate action into finance ministries. Watch the video here to learn more.

Now in its second cohort, the Climate Finance Fellowship continues to build pathways for finance and legal talent into climate work.

The Fellowship supports the transition of mid-career professionals into purpose-driven roles through a 12-month strategic placement with a Host Organization and the scaffolding of a Fellowship.
